I've been fortunate to work closely with different groups to explore creative activities in community settings. This experience has given me valuable understanding in using creativity to engage with people and discuss different topics and challenges effectively.
Exploring experiences of homelessness and substance abuse 2023
I collaborated with researcher Iveta Tsenkova to develop interactive canvases for a workshop targeting people with homelessness and substance abuse experiences. The canvases let participants express their thoughts on discussions about their life experiences and create personal artwork.
Break The Bias: International Women’s Day 2022
In March 2022, I worked with St. Hilda's Girls Project group to address gender inequality and feminism. Using pre-prepared canvases, we discussed the topics and encouraged group interaction. Collaborative canvases were created, which displayed our explored areas. To finish the artwork, we took the canvases outside and added spray paint. This successful engagement method allowed participants to express emotions, ideas, and be creative.
We Love The Planet 2022
Working together with The Mayor’s Peer Outreach Team, Royal Holloway University of London, and The Museum of London, I created three canvases for a special event focused on climate change for young Londoners. One of the canvases was displayed, while the other two were made available for the attendees to interact with. The purpose of the canvases was to collect the thoughts and ideas of the attendees regarding the event itself and the planet's situation. It was fascinating to witness the wide variety of thoughts that were contributed by the attendees to the canvases.
World Mental Health Day 2021;2022
Thrive LDN's World Mental Health Day Festival featured collaborative canvases where attendees contributed ideas and artwork. Young people had a separate canvas to create their own art. All pieces were displayed on the festival's last day. In 2022, redesigned canvases aligned with the event's branding and allowed people to share their thoughts.
Celebrating Right to Thrive 2022
In June 2022, I prepared two blank artworks for Thrive LDN's event promoting the Right to Thrive Program. The goal was to help and empower London's community organizations. The artworks served as a platform for participants to contribute ideas on collaboration and community.
